Design Tradeoffs

There is almost never a single best (perfect) design.
All designs are the result of tradoffs between design parameters.
Usually, one design factor is affected by other design factors.
Build smarter - trade material for information (B. Fuller)
Examples:

Trade off light weight for strength.

As strength of material goes up, so does its weight.

Trade off speed for torque.

As speed goes up, torque goes down.
