Friction
Friction is a force resulting from one object trying to slide over another.
There are two types of friction:
Static friction keeps a motionless object in place.
Dynamic (kinetic) friction is the force
Frictional force is always in the opposite direction of the applied force.
Friction is the product of the "normal force" and the "coefficient of friction" between the two surfaces.
Friction decreases on an inclined plane because the normal force (perpendicular to the plane) decreases as the incline increases.
The friction between a wheel and the ground is called
traction
